چکیده

O ne-dimensional (1D) materials—from nanowires to carbon nanotubes to linear arrays of cold atoms—hold promise for applications in nanoelectronics, sensing, energy harvesting, and quantum information processing. They are also ideal for exploring fundamental quantum phenomena at the nanoscale. Their theoretical description relies on a model known as the Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid (TLL) [1], which can account for the many-body interactions within a 1D ensemble of quantum systems (fermions, spins, or bosons). To date, however, only a few of the aspects of this theory have been experimentally tested. This is mostly due to the difficulty of realizing an ideal and controllable 1D system experimentally.

Molecular Docking Based on Virtual Screening, Molecular Dynamics and Atoms in Molecules Studies to Identify the Potential Human Epidermal Receptor 2 Intracellular Domain Inhibitors

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor family having tyrosine kinase activity. Overexpression of HER2 usually causes malignant transformation of cells and is responsible for the breast cancer. In this work, the virtual screening, molecular docking, quantum mechanics and molecular dynamics methods were employed to study protein–ligand ...

Thermodynamic properties and thermometry of 1D Bose gases

The one-dimensional (1D) Bose gas model of particles interacting via a repulsive delta-function potential is a remarkable system for extending our understanding of the physics of interacting quantum many-body systems. On the one hand, the model is exactly solvable in quantum many-body theory. On the other hand, it is now experimentally realizable with ultra-cold alkali atoms in highly anisotrop...

Bilayers of Rydberg atoms as a quantum simulator for unconventional superconductors.

In condensed matter, it is often difficult to untangle the effects of competing interactions, and this is especially problematic for superconductors. Quantum simulators may help: here we show how exploiting the properties of highly excited Rydberg states of cold fermionic atoms in a bilayer lattice can simulate electron-phonon interactions in the presence of strong correlation--a scenario found...

A short guide to topological terms in the effective theories of condensed matter

This article is meant as a gentle introduction to the topological terms that often play a decisive role in effective theories describing topological quantum effects in condensed matter systems. We first take up several prominent examples, mainly from the area of quantum magnetism and superfluids/superconductors. We then briefly discuss how these ideas are now finding incarnations in the studies...

One-dimensional topological chains with Majorana fermions in two-dimensional nontopological optical lattices

The recent experimental realization of one-dimensional (1D) equal Rashba-Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling (ERD-SOC) for cold atoms provides a disorder-free and highly controllable platform for the implementation and observation of Majorana fermions (MFs), analogous to the broadly studied solid-state nanowire-superconductor heterostructures. However, the corresponding 1D chains of cold atoms poss...
